Halfway: I’ve come as far as I have left to go.
Yep you read that right. I debated going swimming last night, was tired and didn’t really feel like it but I persevered and was handsomely rewarded. When I thought I wouldn’t make my 350m again, I managed to keep going to 500m, and I did 34 lengths all up. I got there late though so only had just over 1 hour. I’m really trying to get up to 40 lengths so I can say I swam 2km in a session, haha. On the plus side, it’s taking me half an hour (sometimes more than half an hour) less to do the 25 lengths I did the first time. I’m not getting much faster so I think I’m just resting way less.
So yea, 500m continuous freestyle breathing properly with stroke-stroke-breath (bilaterally I’m told) and enjoying the feeling heaps. Even when I stopped this time it was because of water in my ears and choking rather than being exhausted. Might try my ear plugs next time.
Tchau.
